“Listening to Auraria’s Past” is a collaborative audio walking tour documenting the displacement of Denver’s old Westside neighborhood of Auraria, which was razed by the city in the 1970s to build the Auraria Higher Education Center. In collaboration with the Auraria Historical Advocacy Council, we are working to recover and share the history of this neighborhood and its people.
"We started to feel more marginalized as we learned about the displacement and as people were labeling us 'blighted'.... I never thought of my neighborhood as being blighted."
